Another Question about lock dado with pocket screw

Post by Scott Marshburn »

I have ben fooling around with the lock dado with pocket screw feature. Am I correct that the settings set for the Kd/Rta ,Lock Dado, Pocket screw over ride the blind dado settings for the blind dados.
Also If I remember in the past there was a option for lock dado with kd fastener but now I can not see it.

Scott, the "lock dado" is the combination blind dado and camlock fastener. I had hoped during the beta phase they would rename the lock dado with pocket screw a "pocket lock" joint.

You are correct that the RTA or Pocketscrew settings override the blind dado settings.

So how would one use the lock dado with Kd fasteners? Just can not seem to produce such a thing. Just lock dado with pocket screw. Maybe I am missing something?

Scott,
Open a cabinet in the cab editor.
Double click the cabinet to select it.
Click on the KD/RTA button in the Item window.
Choose a connector and hole pattern.
Apply the pattern and connector to the cabinet.
Lock dado will now apply that connector using the settings in parameters for each part.

Kerry, shouldn't it do that by default?

Forrest.
It should have KD/RTA's by default. Scott should post his problem cabinet so we can look at the settings or he can open the standard base frameless cabinet in the cab editor and them globally select Lock dado for the construction and see if the KD/RTA fittings are placed properly on a cabinet that has not been modified.

I Got It Guys. I hade to select lock dado for the construction. Then in the construction parameters click on select Kd/Rta Fasteners. I may be wrong but I thought that before there was a option to use lock dado with Kd/Rta fasteners.
