Cutlist not including in-house built drawer face Bd.Ft.

Post by Donald Thomson »

I've attached a Cutlist readout for a cabinet. You can see the amount of Rustic Hickory under the Board Stock Summary.

The problem is, the calculator screenshot indicates another 7.01 Bd. Ft. for drawer faces that is NOT showing up in the cutlist. This also significantly impacts the cost of the cabinet because the drawer face material is not included in the Cost Sheet.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or do I have to manually calculate Bd.Ft. for drawer faces and doors in all my cabinets?

Don,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We see the issue and I have it documented. Just so you are aware (and you may already be), the problem is specific to the one-piece solid wood drawer fronts (Keystone, Number 10, Slab, and TW-10) and the 1 solid door (Flush Batten) in the Conestoga collection. If you choose any of the 5-piece drawer fronts or doors it will list the material correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The TW-10 is a drawer front from the Conestoga collection. All 5-piece doors (any type) will work fine. It is only 1 door and 4 drawer fronts and all are in the Conestoga collection and they are the ones that are made of just one piece. Those are the only ones that are affected by this issue.

Don,

I finally realized my mistake. Yes, the TW-10 is a 5-piece drawer and is not a problem. So, make that 1 door and 3 drawer fronts that are involved. Sorry if I confused you with that.

Upon seeing this thread I have ben doing some math with the Board Stock Summary report.
I used a build in house thermwood door 18" wide x 21" high batched the door with a qty. of 45
I mocked up a spread sheet with the data from the eCabinets cut list. The top section is what eCabinets shows.
The bottom section is the total board feet that I come up with to order for this job.
I may be wrong, although it does add the saw kerf it seems to me that the board feet that the eCabinets cut list is calculating is missing the expected yield for board stock, set in define cost.

Ok. I figured out that the yield % is calculate as a $ amount in the Cost sheet. So I guess that one would have to manually calculate the board footage to order(Unlike the sheet stock), because it does no show this on any reports that I can find.
