Feature request for global item modifications

Would it be possible to add the capability to set the construction settings on a part-to-part basis? For example. On a base cabinet that is using 3/4 Generic materials and lock dado joinery for all parts. It would be great if we could select just a certain part such as the top stretcher front and/or back and set the details for the lock dados on just these parts rather than all of the parts that are using the same material
