help manual missing in latest version 6.2.12.1
I just updated to 6.2.12.1 and went to see if there was anything new added but there is no help manual for v 6.2.12 or v 6.2.12.1
Yes! Oh Yes! I Think We Are Going to make It!

Scott,
So I'm on the right page, you got it going by reinstalling with the download for the 6.2.12, and now installing the 6.2.12.1 put the 6.2.11 help manual in?

Scott,
Is your eCabinets set to a network path or the default location? If its set to a network location, go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\Help System and double click the help manual. Let me know how that pans out. If it is the latest and you are on a network path, you can copy it to the network location folder and that will correct what you're seeing. I'd still be interested in what you find.

Mine's missing as well. I downloaded from the ecabinets website, not thru the software. Still have the 6.2.11 manual, and I checked in the Public Documents/Thermwood folder also. Just seems to be MIA
(The program itself does report V6.2.12.1 in the About menu)

Re: help manual missing in latest version 6.2.12.1
I may have figured it out - my User folder (and everything in it, including the Help System folder) is partially checked Read Only, and I can NOT get the **** thing to uncheck. Have I ever mentioned I detest Windows 10... I've had this issue before, and once I recall how to uncheck the Read Only box and have it STAY THAT WAY (are you listening Bill Gates?!) I believe the problem may be solved.
Scott, right-click on your Help System folder and see if the Read Only box shows checked, as mine does (see picture)

Jeremy,
Good call on that one. The software engineer is going to see about putting in a check to see if the folder or existing help file are set to read only so the installer can do what it needs to do.

Re: help manual missing in latest version 6.2.12.1
I have set every permission for everyone on this planet (and probably others) to be able to do whatever they want with these folders, yet they still show as (partial) read only. This is a Windows issue that I have encountered before, and it has to do with permissions getting screwed up and stuck when moving files from one hard drive to another, or other such manipulations. Not worth the time to try to trace it down at this point, so here is my solution:
1. Uninstall eCabinets.
2. Go to Users\Public\Public Documents\Thermwood, and delete the eCabinet Systems folder.
3. Reinstall eCabinets (did not require a new reg code, thankfully)
4. ????
5. Profit
Problem solved, I now have the proper help manual.

Be careful following those steps. If your eCabinets directory is set to default you will delete all of your cabinets, drawer boxes, patterns, etc. You likely could have gotten the same result from deleting the Help System folder, then running the installer choosing Repair.Jeremy Schiffer wrote: Thu, Dec 12 2024, 9:00AM I have set every permission for everyone on this planet (and probably others) to be able to do whatever they want with these folders, yet they still show as (partial) read only.
