Well I finally got it . Last nite when I got home I decided to have another whack at this. Within 30 minutes I had gotten the profile I was looking for.
Thanks to all who tried to help, you gave me the incentive to conquer this.

David,
Don't you think that's when you make those difficult pieces that you learn the most?
Now we're going to ask you how you did it.
That's when you become an expert.
Keep up the good work.

Brian, I certainly hope it gets machined. But since I am only responsible for the design who can tell.
Jean, getting this part right has definetely increased my knowledge of the software. And the fact that I did it on my own with the encouragement of all my friends here on the forum makes it that much sweeter.
As to how I did it, the radius is not hard, the profile was tricky. But Kerry set me on the path I needed to take. I found that it was a matter of getting the plunge depth close, and then fine tuning it. Yea a bit of trial and error. Here is a better pic of the rail & countertop . I still have a lot of work to do on it. I am now figuring out how to make the sections more managable.
