You might try something like Audrey did in http://www.thermwood.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1809 but with raised panels to match the tub enclosure.
Does the tub have a shower in it? If so, maybe put a glass wall around it but leave room at the top for steam to escape and not damage the ceiling.

maybe a sugestion for you george
i george
i am new here and i really like the design you come up with for your bathtub the only thing i can see is your arc on the front side just over the step. it could become a probleme in the futur because that part will eventualy become a step for some one or a person will try to step in the tub by hanging there. so i really like the look of it but if i was you i will just move it on each side on the step like that they can be use for a shelf
sorry for my english

hi George
i appraciate the fact that you read my post but i didn't do that to critesise your work only to give an external view on your conception because on my first job in the industrie i have also design different of furniture and i know that is frustrating to see you furniture damage buy your custumer
well for you tub struturaly wise your new design is stroger but (lolll) i don't if it's a consern for you or your custumer but it could happend, when they gona try to step on the step they gona bang there knee or there front leg on your shelve because the stand over the step you could may be close thet gap with a round panel or three small one a kind of step with a podium in the middle
i dont know it's just an idea but your desing it'really good looking until you found a nice lacker to protect all of this from the water
good luck
