Joe is a little faster than me in the Part Editor (but I can type faster  ).

I selected the part using chain. The image shows where I clicked and the blue area is not connected to the green (selected) area.

Just extend the lines and trim them.

One more question and then I am through with the reindeer.

1. I loaded a display panel
2. I took it into the parts editor
3. I loaded the dxf file and it overlapped the panel.
4. I turned each part green using :
Create part w/ closed contour

I guess you can not turn more than one part green at a time???
And assuming I have to do each part individually, Do I click the cnc
button and turn it into a twd from a dxf?????

If so, it did not work, I clicked the cnc button and got an error.

It's a good thing my kids are acting good today. Way too much time already creating reindeer.

Yes you have to do one at a time, create a part click next then return to the cabinet editor load another panel create another and so on. With all the parts in the cabinet editor you can click the cnc button. Also I would save it as an assembly because if you decide to make a change later you can not reverse engineer a .twd file and you will have to start over.
Joe

while you have all the parts in the cabinet editor why don't you align them into the reindeer and post it

Why not send it and pictures of the finished project to Jason for the next member magazine?

Brian

Were you able to download the holiday deer? I clicked the download button and got a blank screen (expect for the page header).

Well I cut out the deer late last night. Its funny how when you get a new toy, sleep is no longer an option. You would rather play around.

One of the deer bodies would not cut w/closed contour. I could highlight it and turn it green, click the next button and nothing ever happens.
It is the lower body on the page.

Anyway, I decided to try and cut the one out that I did manage to get parts for. When I loaded it into the controler, It loaded without any problem untill it got to the deer body. It started cutting the body out and encounter an error about having radius comp on and not being able to calculate an arc. I manually changed the G42 to a G40 to see what would happen and got the body cut out. Probably not exactly right but it looked good.

I wish the program would load correctly so I could get both deer.

WooHooo!!! Put up a picture of the finished deer.

On the create part thing, you might try it again and just let it sit. It has so many points that it could take a while to complete.

I just noticed she is sitting a little low in the saddle. That could be uncomfortable.

I tried loading the Thermwood deer also and nothing happened.

I tried the Thermwood deer last night. Nothing came through. It is old and maybe isn't there any more or needs an Advanced Support member sign-in. Maybe it can only be seen by those who believe! :) :)

Brian, that's deep man! I am a believer too, but could not see. I have to believe there is a problem because even Dan could not see it with his Wizardry and Crystal Ball.
