Loading DXF files into control nesting

Post by Jeremy Schiffer »

I'm attaching a .dxf file that I created with Solidworks 2001, a simple series of concentric rectangles, each one on its own layer. I used the control nesting documentation to name the layers so as to account for tool diameter and depth. Best I can tell, this file should run just fine. Not only does it not run, it doesn't load either. When I try to load it into CN, it crashes the entire THM software back to the desktop with no error (except the "THM has encountered a problem and needs to close")

So, could someone with more DXF knowledge than me have a look at this, or attempt to load it and see if they get the same error? I'm running out of both time and hair. Thanks!

(changed file extension to .txt, you'll need to change back to .dxf)

Hi Jeremy,

I took a quick look at your dxf file and found a couple things that you will need to change in the layer names in order to get file to nest. First, you need to remove the (-) from "z" naming. It is not necessary to specify minus. Secondly, you will need to move the dimensions off of the "outline" layer.
