Hinge Mount?

Post by Nat Wheatley »

What is the hinge mount? I would guess that it was the hinge plate, but the hole pattern for my hinges already includes the drilling for this.

How does the hole pattern apply, where it's already included in the hole pattern for my hinge?

These are the holes for the hinge plate.

I understand that. Those holes are included in the hole pattern for the hinge. Why then does the hinge mount also have a field for a hole pattern. It seems it would only replicate those same holes.

It looks like all the hinge patterns have the plate holes, which should be fine. Just don't set a pattern for the hinge mount, yet do include a hinge mount for your hardware records.

Although, there could potentially be a problem with the angled hinge, since there backset is generally something other than 37mm........Hmmmm

Nat...
I use a modified pattern for hinges that has only the mount holes in it. We very seldom cut slab doors on the machine, but this lets us install all hinges with the minipress. Like Rick says, associate the hinge and plate to the door (cabinet) but only use a bore pattern for the hinge. (either with or without the 35 & 8mm holes)
