Defaults

Post by Wally Schneeberger »

I have tried and tried to change these DFs to white melamine and they will not change no matter what I do. I have gone into the DFs and changed the defaults and it just gives me the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. What happened to our Change Materials on a cab???

Wally,
You can select the cabinet in the room, then in the item window on the right use the 'adjust features' button to change the doors or drawer fronts.
You can do this from the batch also, if you check the box to the left of the cabinet first.

You cannot replace the drawer fronts in the cabinet editor without deleting them then adding them again with your new default selected.

To change materials for cabinets in the room, select the cabinet, right click, then go to 'change sheet stock'
From the batch, check the box and click on 'change sheet stock' at the top of the batch screen.
Hope this is helpful,

Josh -- I have removed the drawers and changed the defaults but the fronts still come out as generic and won't nest with the white melamine. I just tried to change them in the batch as you suggested but it won't give me the option to click OK. I took it into a room and the generic does not show in the Change materials list.

Wally,
When you changed your default, are you sure it was the default drawer front and not the door? This confuses me sometimes....
I put the cabinet in the batch, checked the box next to it, went to the item window, adjust features, change drawer front, selected 'slab' from the pulldown, changed the 'sheet stock' for the slab to your 5/8 white melamine, clicked OK and it went fine. All shows on the same nest.
Am I doing it the same way you did?

That's exactly what I'm doing but the OK button is grayed out so it won't change.
