Failed door creation

Post by Mark Fehringer »

I recently purchased a new computer and downloaded the latest version of ecabinets, and transferred my existing ecabinets files from my old computer. Now I am having trouble loading cabinets into the custom layout area. I get an error message that says "failed door creation. Profile tool does not exist or is invalid. Bead tool does not exist or is invalid." I can place the cabinet in the custom layout, but it removes the doors and drawers due to the above failures. Also, in the door/drawer editor, there are no images for the door style libraries, no profile images, etc. Basically the door editor is just a window with a few empty drop boxes. I have also gotten a fatal error message, although I don't recall the circumstances that caused it. It said something like "Fatal HOOP error. Not enough memory." The computer is an i7, 12GB DDR3, with an AMD HD 7770 2GB graphics. My old computer was running the program, although slowly, with 1GB memory and no graphics card, so there should be no shortage of memory.

How might I fix these problems?

Thank you,

Mark

When you say you transfered your old files to your new computer, did you simply copy them or did you use the restore process? You should perform a backup of your old computer on to a memory stick or some kind of protable media and then perform a restore to your new compter from that backup file. This process should take all of your old files and place them on your new computer into their respective files.
