Hi, I've had this happen twice now, - hours building a job in eCabinets, only to save it, and go back to open it and it says "an error occured when loading HOOPS information" and won't load the job.
I've searched this forum and tried a few things like renaming the file, but no luck. Anyone?
Thank you
Can anyone help - Hoops file error loading a job

Hi Domenic,
More than likely, one of your cabinets lost it's part bodies. We used to see that quite frequently. I would recommend making new seed cabinets to work from when you start a new job, and begin making those seed cabinets with the latest version TWD standard cabinets.
Sorry it's probably not much help, but you could also try and post the job and maybe Scott can figure a way to get the file opened for you.

Maybe see if you can restore the file to a previous version, make a copy first. I've never tried with ecabinets but I've fixed several autocad drawings by using dropbox as my default save folder.

OK, thank you for the info, I guess this file is corrupt then?... time to start over. Unfortunalty, I'm no good at computers and really just need cutlists out of this thing. I guess eCabinets doesnt really have a support line? someone to talk me through restoring files etc...?

Besides this forum, there are training videos/books and email. Most of the time if you post here your question will eventually be answered, sometimes it takes a while. If you want to contact Thermwood directly try: http://www.ecabinetsystems.com/ecabinet ... mation.htm
The hoops file error seems like a freak occurrence. I've only encountered it once out of hundreds of design jobs. The biggest bug I've found is in the shelf editor, if you ever go back in that area to edit an already placed shelf, don't hit cancel if you change your mind, Ecabinets crashes almost every time I do this and I don't always remember to save the job before hand. I wish Ecabinets had autosave functionality, I may write an autohotkey script one of these days to do that. Anyhow, If you watch all the training videos and read the manual you should be fine for the most part.
As for backing up and being able to archive different versions of files, I think that in windows 7 and later you can set it up to automatically create restore points for files at a set interval, haven't had time to really try it out though. I like Dropbox b/c it's easy to use, but I think Google and Microsoft offer similar services.
