MDF Doors

Post by John Howley »

I'm new to this forum and to eCabinets.(And to CNCs in general)
I was wondering if it is possible to make Faux raised panel doors out of 3/4 MDF using eCabinets?
I was just going to purchase cutter bits for my CNC (Shopbot) that produce the look of a raised panel door into a single piece of MDF.
I could do this operation manually in other software simple by drawing the outer profile and inner line for the bit to follow.
But I'm looking for a piece software that can produce a consistent ache in a cathedral or ache door as I vary the width of the door.
Looking at eCabinets I see the Slab doors but nothing for designing MDF Doors.
Again I sorry if I'm missing something that is obvious, I've only been using the software for a couple days.

Thanks in advanced for any feedback!!

Hi John

In the door/drawer front designer click on the ? At the top right and click on the search tab and type Mdf Doors it should list about five topics I would read them all. However speaking for us hinde sight being 20/20 I would look into purchasing a 3rd. party software like panelmatrix If you plan on doing allot of these types of doors. Because eCabinets will not do a 3Pass type of Mdf door. At least not automaticly we have however (After allot of testing and drawing ) ben able to do this using a cabinet back and constraints. Although Square doors a fairly easy Cathedral doors are a totally different ball game. And you can forget about Glass mullion doors These have to be modeled.
