I am experiencing major lag in the line drawing editor after the recent build installation. It lags so much that it is non-useable. I have a lot of work to get done and really need to get this figured out.
I already tried updating my graphics card driver to the most recent and increasing my RAM to 16GB and those things did not work. I am not sure if I am utilizing the graphics card settings properly as I know it is customisable.
My computer specs. are listed here:
Dell Precision M6500 Series
Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
Intel Core i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73 GHZ
16 GB RAM
240 GB Hard Drive
NVIDIA Quadro FX 2800 M

You might be having some issues with what NVIDIA calls Optimus (it's a hybird video card functionality that flip flops from the High-performance card and the integrated video as well). This is usually useful for battery life, but not for eCabSys. We found that you should be able to create an NVIDIA Optimus profile for eCabinets (see How do I customize Optimus profiles and settings? link). Hopefully adding a profile for eCabinets.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\ECABINETS.exe) to use only the High-performance NVIDIA processor will help you. Extreme cases have required Optimus to be disabled in the BIOS. Let us know if this helps. If you have trouble finding this setting, give us a call.
Does this procedure also work for ATI Radeon 4800 series video cards?
I have a similar Laaaaaag response time in LDE with the most recent build. I can click on a part and it will take 2 to 5 seconds before I see the part selected. I end up clicking all over the place thinking the program froze up or something.
I worked with a customer yesterday, who had issues in the Cabinet Editor, when he rotated, moved or exploded a cabinet. It was for lack of a better term, a shuttering movement.
Found that he had a NVIDIA card, but not the Optimus. To resolve it, we went into the NVIDIA Control Panel. Went to Manage 3D Settings, Selected the "Program Settings" tab and then the "Add" button. From there we found and selected the "ecabinets.exe" program file. That fixed the problem.
I don't know about the ATI cards. Possibly, they have their own Control Panel that can be used to manage the video resources.
I just realized that the lag begins after copying and pasting within the LDE.
For example, I bring a custom layout or wall elevation into the LDE and it works as normal.
If I copy the same wall or another wall from a different page and paste it onto the same page to have multiple views on one page the lag begins making it virtually unuseable.
After further looking into it I realize now that this happens regardless of what build the job was created in.
I will try to attach the zip job file but I am having problems. Assuming I am able to upload the file, If anyone has time to take a look at it please do and let me know how it responds for you.
Thanks

Was there anything figured out on this, I have a somewhat larger kitchen layout that is lagging pretty bad, have built many larger in the past and had no problems..
This one is not detailed or have anything in it that should be slowing it down.

Mike,
We have reproduced and isolated this lag situation and are working on the solution. Sorry for the inconvenience.
