Door Drawer Overlay
I have signed up for the video's and have watched the majority of them. For some reason the program is not changing my overlays. I am trying to duplicate a cabinet that is Shaker style doors and the face frames are pretty much hidden except for a 3/8" reveal. End Cabinet: I have set my hinge side overlay to 1 1/8" and the other to 1 5/16" because the other side will have another cabinet installed next to it. The bottom of the door the same to get the 3/8 reveal and the top of the door 9/16 because of the drawer above it. I am using 1 1/2" on all face frames.
Is there something I'm missing here? I go to the cabinet editor and construction settings to make the changes.
Thanks in advance

Re: Door Drawer Overlay
I think this is a bug in build 15. Can you post your cabinet so we can verify it?

Thank you Rick for the quick reply. I didn't have notifications on and thought it would show up under messages.

Re: Door Drawer Overlay
Arthur,
Doors and drawer fronts are what are called "Add" components. This means that you have to be in the specific editor to make certain changes. This is so you can have as many different doors or drawers with as many different settings as needed for a design. So, you will want to take the cabinet to the Door/Drawer Editor, hold down the Ctrl key and then Left-click on the door and drawer front to select/highlight them green, then go to construction setting, change the Overlaps and then select OK. this should apply the changes you are wanting. You can select just one at a time if you need to as well. Also, you can always delete them off, then change settings and add them back on as well to get what you need.

Re: Door Drawer Overlay
This is where I have tried it before. I just went through your steps and when the construction area opened my settings were already there.
I tried different settings and still nothing happened after it calculated.
I am choosing one cabinet then going to the edit cabinet/assembly. Then choosing the door drawer editor, clicking on the door and click on construction settings. Still no changes to door.
Thanks
Playing with this as I am typing and somehow it just changed. The only difference I can think of is the last try I did not hold the ctrl key.

Re: Door Drawer Overlay
Holding Ctrl is just needed to do a multi-selection. If you want one door or drawer at a time you would not hold down Ctrl. It all works correctly for me with your cabinet. Make sure the doors and or drawer fronts you want to change are selected (edges highlighted green) before selecting construction settings.Arthur Ross wrote:This is where I have tried it before. Re: Door Drawer Overlay
Thanks Scott.
I have other questions/problems. Do I carry on here or need to post them separately?
They have to do with a face frame staying 2" instead of the 1 1/2 and another on how to (easiest/quickest) way to change joinery and material on cabinets I have already put in a layout, if it is possible without doing each cabinet individually.

So, to change existing ones, you will have to go to the FF Editor and highlight them and then go to construction setting, page 2 in your case and then select OK to get the new width to apply. You can always delete them out and add them back in as well.

If you want to physically change it to a different material, then you can use the Change Materials option (Right-Click menu -> Change Materials) or you can change materials using the Global Item Modification feature in the Item Window under Adj. Features.
