Control nesting merge materials disappear.

Post by Mark McCallum »

Not sure if anyone else can make this happen.
I have a job with 2 materials, one 16.2mm and the other shows as 16.2001 (Not sure if the .001 makes a difference)
Nest X.
I want to merge them.
I select the merge button
The merge dialogue comes up.

CTRL Select
CTRL Select

Now Select the cancel button (before merging) and it returns to the loaded material screen but the 2 un-merged materials have gone from the list.
Return to the loaded job and the parts with those material parts are gone from there as well.

To get them back I have to clear and reload the job.

Just on a side note. :D

It would be useful to be able to select one of the loaded materials as the master or main material. For that one nesting job only convert it to the master material.

Often the board sizes are virtually the same its mainly that they are different colours that they are named differently.

I think it would be a smoother operation and save time because it wouldn't be necessary to add the material to a tool group and would not fill up the tool groups with one off materials to delete.

I'm not sure if its buried in the settings but an acceptable tolerance of .2 either way would be useful and wouldn't make any difference on some jobs and if the selected master was the thicker material the dados would be slightly looser,No big deal
(Shut up Mark. Enough thinking. Its only the 1st of January) :joker:

Thanking you.
Mark

PS. I'm luvin the popup tool tip in the nest. I haven't done a large job yet but its a big QOL improvement.
Please pass my thanks to the team and the programmers
