How to do text on part labels

Post by Gene Davis »

Most of our jobs are done using 3/4" MCP (Melamine Coated Pparticleboard) sheet stock for carcase components, but there are cases where we want parts that are painted, and for these we specify 3/4" prefinished maple plywood. Our jobber gives the side to be painted a light sanding and paints. I want the labels to instruct which side (or both) gets the paint job. How is this most easily accomplished?

Gene,

The most simple way for you would be to change the user part name to include an indicator for interior or exterior or both finish work needed, or to assign an edge an edgebanding of a specific name that would be the indicator. ECabinets doesn't have a way to send along free text that would be populated for a particular part.

If you have Crystal Reports 8.5 you could potentially make a custom label that if the user part name contained a specific character then the label file would be told to output other text on the label.
