edgebanding

Post by Michael S Murray »

Hello everyone,
Is any one cutting production out there using the new edgebanding in v-5.1. I have had nothing but trouble at the router with it previously. The drawings look good, but somehow it seems to screw with control nesting and cause all kinds of problems. I have 3 kitchens ready to cut with edgebanding applied in e-cabs and I am very anxious about cutting them.
Just wondering if any one else is using it in production...
Thanks for any help,
Mike Murray

Hi Michael,

Exactly what are you seeing in Control Nesting? If you'd like, you can contact me directly to discuss this matter.

Michael,

I had a problem with the edgebanding a while back. When nesting the job, it confused my blind dado with a pocket and did not allow for my fit allowances. It also cut the tennons to long they all had to be trimmed. Never did figure out why, but haven't used the edgebanding since.

I am working with Ryan on this, I gurantee you I am one of the most stubborn people on this forum and I will work at something until i get it tuned up. I am trying to find time to figure out exactly what is happening and let the experts figure out why and how to fix it. I am doing this on my in house work and not my cutting services. The new edgebanding interface is just so awsome i will not abandon it.I will waste a few sheets and recut a few pcs now and then in the name of progress. I need it to work for commercial work, the work arounds are just an opportunity for mistakes. I hope everone else sticks with it till it is right also..I will cut up 3 kitchens later this week with edgebanding applied as neededand no workarounds used. Wish me luck!!
