Losing files

Post by Leo Graywacz »

I worked for a good while on making a baluster profile cutting tool. I saved several versions of it (*.x_t) and used them on several occasions during my session of experiments. I got out of eCab and went about my life. Now I've come back to continue with the experimenting and they are gone. This has happened on all other occasions of saving files from the shape manager. I thought that I didn't save them. But on this occasion I made certain that they were saved, I checked on them to see that they had been saved and it looked good. Now that I have closed down the program and opened it back up they are gone again. What gives. Where are they going and why? They are not in my recycle BIN. I did a search of the entire drive and they are nowhere. How do I save these files so I can come back and edit them if I need to? Or am I destined to do the same things over and over again? I make the tools (*.tol) with them and they survive, but the tool files are not editable. Help.

Leo,
If you have backed up eCabinets they should be in the eCabinets Backup directory in whatever tools folder you told eCabinets to back up.
