Need a new laptop

Post by Marvin Pate »

My old computer is having problems and I need to purchase a new computer. All of the new computers that I have seen have Windows Vista. I have read some of the topics regarding problems with eCabinets and Vista. I have several questions: (1) will eCabinets be upgraded to run on Windows Vista ? (2) if eCabinets plans to upgrade to run on Windows Vista what is the target time for issue ? (3) if I get a new laptop with Windows Vista will eCabinets run good enought to be useful ? I know this is a broad questions but I can handle some work-arounds as long as the program will work good enought to provide cabinets/assemblies, room layouts, line drawings, cut lists and nest diagrams. I have real serious nighmares about having to go back to graph paper, pencil and hand held calculators.

You can still get laptops with XP from the Dell Outlet.

Hi Marvin,

If you go to Dell.com, make sure that you select Small Business as they will give you a choice of vista or xp. If you select Home, you only get to select vista.
