Any Dovetail Tips?

Post by Brian Shannon »

I cut a dovetail drawer way back when the tooling was first available. My fit was a little loose. I have not tried dovetails since. Now, I am going to try a small run of 10 drawers using 1/2\" ApplePly(31/64\"). I have read some of the posts but was wondering if there are any other tips for settings in eCab and/or RN.

Thanks,

Brian

Make sure that you follow manual closly!!!

Cut one drower first and see how it goes together, if you are satisfied you can cut the job, if not change settings ang go again. You will have to do this for every material!

I have not had any problems with drawers since CN 5.29 came out. Should work well now.

Good luck!

Thanks Guys!

I got my drawers cut and assembled. They turned out well. I glued the joints and shot them with a 23 guage micro pinner. The fit was nice and flush on the sides(crunch?). The tolerance for fit was set to \"0\"but I would still like a little tighter. Would I need to adjust my dovetail cutter tool dia. a little bigger than actual(.375) so the male dovetails get cut a little wider?
