problem with PE features in tops

Post by Mark Hesketh »

got a base corner cabinet where I have to add a series of holes into the deck and top. Got them in and constrained on the deck no problem. Added them to the top ok, but once I try to constrain the top I get an error message saying it can't do it and it freaks out. any ideas what's going on?

as for the steps, here is what i did:

- opened atandard frameless base corner cabinet
- changed materials and joinery so that all parts except back are 3/4 white, and back is 1/2 white with a 1/4 inset full dado in the sides and bottom
- opened the gabels in the part editor and added holes for dowel construction
- opened gables in the constrain manager and constrained all the holes
- opened the deck in part editor and added hole
- opened deck in constraint manager and constrained holes
- opened top in part editor and added holes
- opened top in constraint manager and added constraints. When I try to return to the main screen I get the error message shown in the pics above. Tried changing the joinery between the back and the top to be a full dado and it gave me an error message and erased all the hole in the top.

here is the cabinet

note: the current holes in the top are not the holes I eventually want, just put them there while trying to get this to work. Eventually the holes in the top should mirror the holes in the deck. The problem happens regardless of the size or quantity of holes in the top.

WTF? I just went through the process again to make sure that I hadn't missed a step and now it appears to be working alright. I have worked on some other cabinets since I originally posted this problem, but haven't even shut down ecabs... and now suddenly the cabinet seems to work... What's the deal?
