New computers and eCab

Post by George L Vought »

Yesterday I got a new Acer Q6600, it has Vista but in the 32 bit version.
I installed my ecabinets, got a new registration code. Here is where I think I'm getting in trouble. I had downloaded the updates to a CD, they don't seem to be installing. I still show the old 5V screen. I also moved my file that I was working on into my pics and then moved it into the eCab folder. I can find the file, but when I go to open it it says an error occured after opening the file.
I thought about the fact that my materials list might be the problem so I went in and updated that to include the materials for this job.
What am I doing wrong??????

Hi, George.

I wonder if the Build 3 update will work if you try installing from the hard disk drive (HDD), instead of doing it from the CD. I always save the updates to CD, but install from the HDD.

Sometimes the software tries to extract the compressed files onto the CD, so the updates may not work. I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Good luck!

Got it fixed. I was installing the build 2, then the 3 when all I needed to do was install the build 3.
