A couple Qs for you guys that do faceframed cabs.
What is your preferred way of fastening faceframes to cabs?
Do you prefer a solid top behind, or stretchers, and if stretchers, do you go with front-to-back stretchers at the sides, or with side-to-side ones at front and back?

I only build faceframe, and I use side to side stretchers, except on a sink base. I fasten all faceframes with pocket screws. Most of the time I finish the FF before I attach it to the cabinet box. I like side to side because I think it makes a stronger box. If for some reason I can't use pocket screws on a finished end, I'll use bisquits for the exposed ends, and pocket screw the stretchers, and deck. Make one hell of a strong cabinet.
