OT Portable hard drive

Post by George Davidson »

I think it is time for me to get a portable hard drive.
I was looking at the Western Digital® 160GB Passport portable hard drive.
On sale $99.99 at Staples I just looked at Tiger they have it for $79.99 Could anyone give me some input on portable hard drive or should I go bigger I am down to 49% on my computer.I do not want to get a new computer.

External drives are great...as long as you don't expect high-speed performance from them. They are perfect for backups and for files that you don't use often but not for things like virtual memory swap files.

You could certainly use one to store eCabinets job files on.

Here is a 500GB drive for $115.99 at NewEgg.

Thank You Dan
I was looking to do it for like you said
Old job files for all my Cad programs
and take off all my pictures from our job
I would like to take off files from my Punch program
I have about 25 to 30 Punch files I could take off
I went in to just one file it has 87,6MB_91,921,017 it has 920 files in it.
That is just one file.I took most of the picture off I would say right now
I have about 3000 pictures still on it.I just think it is time to clean house.
