Problem Loading Appliance

Post by Rob Perry »

Suddenly I cannot load any range from appliances. I can load a fridge & dishwasher but when I try to load a range I get a message \"Problem Loading Appliance\"
If I select change size they are all at \"O\" & if I try to change them I get the message. I have recently loaded a range with no problems before..

Have you restarted eCabinet Systems since this started?

Open your windows explorer and go to your appliances directory in the eCabinet Systems Folder. Open your ranges folder and right click on the stove.stl file, go to properties and look at the size. Please let me know what it is.

Hi Justin

Yes I have closed & re opened e-cabinets as well as re booted my computer.
When I use windows explorer & go to the range folder it just lists Jpeg files for the ranges. When I go to the refrigerator folder It only shows jpeg's as well. I do not see any stl. files. However the fridges will load properly but ranges will not. I don't remember changing anything that would make this happen.. I did a registry clean recently however.

Make sure you are looking for Stove.stl in C:|Program Files\\Thermwood\\eCabinet Systems\\appliances\\Ranges.

I was able to reproduce the problem if the Stove.STL did not exist. If this is the case for you, save the attached file into the following folder:

C:\\Program Files\\Thermwood\\eCabinet Systems\\appliances\\Ranges

STOVE.STL

Well I downloaded the file above to the Appliance/range Folder & it shows a certificate trust file, I'm assuming thats what it is. However It still gives me the same message if I try to load a appliance. I have closed e-cabinets & re opened after downloading the file but still no go. The other appliance folders look the same with a Certificate trust file, However Refigerators, Dishwashers will load but ranges will not ..

You have to rename it to Stove.stl. It must be that exact file name or it will not work.

The file I attached was named STOVE.STL...not stove_369. I would re-download the file again.

Jody

Files are renamed when they are posted to the forum.

Now you are older and wiser...

Since uploaded files are stored in a single location most, if not all, forums append a number to posted file names to prevent duplicate file names.

Opps.. I have been so busy I neglected to come back with a update..

I tried re-downloading the file AND re-naming the file exacatly as Jody's post attachment indicates and I'm still getting the same error.. I've just been leaving the Range space emply in my layouts untill I figure this out..

Your picture above got me thinking. I noticed that your folder view does not show the file extensions. For instance, you only see 'Black' instead of 'Black.jpg'.
It is possible to rename a file to have 2 extensions such as 'STOVE.STL.STL' if you cannot see the last one.
This will cause the same problem.

Try this;
Open Windows Explorer
Highlight the C:\ drive on the left window pane
From the pulldown menu, choose TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS
In the new dialog box, go to the VIEW tab along the top
Uncheck the box that says 'Hide Extensions for known filetypes'
Then choose Apply to all folders.

You may have to relaunch Windows Explorer for the effects to take place...not sure though.
Now go find the STOVE.STL file again. If it has 2 extensions, remove the last one. There should be only one DOT in the entire name.

Launch eCabs and see if this fixes it.
