Has anyone gotten the forum search to work yet? I entered "+corner +cabinet" and received the message below saying the words are "too common" to use for a search.
Of course they are common words...they are found in this forum hundres of times. It looks like the stop word list may have entries that should be removed for this type of forum.

Re: Forum search problems
Actually, it looks like the stop word list is generated by the search itself and is not editable as in the past.
There is an option to change the percentage of posts a word must be contained in before it is considered too common for an efficient search. Out-of-the-box phpBB sets it to 5%...way too low for words like "cabinet" in these forums.
That is something Dean will have to tinker with to get a good balance between search hits and system load.
By the way, the screen shot below is from my system and not the Thermwood forums. Didn't want to scare anyone and make them think I had somehow gotten admin access.

Re: Forum search problems
Looks like that was it Mr Fehribach (since we're being that formal
). I know its difficult to strike a good balance between common words and load the search engine makes on the database server. I think this version of phpBB uses better search algorithms to keep the load lower.
Thanks!!!

Thanks!!!
