Pomona show quest. about added scribe
Justin, At the pomona show I brought up the question of being able to add a certain amount of scribe to a cabinet stile and still be able to show the measurement of the anticipated finish dimension, Here in Beverly hills and Bel air there is no such thing as a scribe moulding we add 1/2" to are wall stiles enabling us to scribe the contour of the wall for a perfect fit, If the architect wants a 1 1/2" finished stile I will make it at 2" for scribe yet in the line drawing editor you can't show that 1 1/2" finished dimension which always gets back to me as a question during my red line process. Is there a way that you can come up with to allow us to create an 1 1/2" stile then mearly add scribe to it so we get an additional node to measure to? Thank's Mark Outlaw Carpenters 2009

Here is something you can try. Load your cabinet, place the correct outside scribe on your 2" stile. Now take this stile to the part editor and make a notch in it. The notch should be no bigger that 1/2" in your part and about .010" thick. Example below. This will now give you the ability to measure to this node in the LDE. You can also add a note in the LDE to explain what you see.

Thank you Justin, I never thought of that and will give it a try on my next presentation. Mark.
