we are trying to cut 1" cedar on our router. we used a 3/8" 3 flute bit (broke 2 of them). and then we moved to a 1/2" 2 flute chip breaker (broke 1 on of them). now the question is what is the best bit to use for 1" cedar, feed rate, speed, and spindle speed? thanks
Darren,
I cut a lot of 1" hickory with a 1/2" chipbreaker (I get it from Atlantic Carbide) and run it at about 300 to 350IPM at about 15,000 rpm and I cut .960 in one pass to leave onion skin because we flip it to do the other side.
