I just upgraded to a Thermwood router from and entry level unit.
I have what might be a stupid question regaring a set up in the control
nesting.
When the technician came out to set up my machine, he set the pocket cutter as a 1/4"
bit. I did a custom project that had large pockets and it tool a long time with that bit.
This was due to the small bit as well as the feed speed set for that bit.
If I changed that to a 1/2" bit, would that screw up something in the ecabinets interface
or would I get an error if a pocket was smaller that a 1/2"?
I am not sure how that set up works, is it the largest bit that the machine will look for
or is it a fixed bit that I would have to change the set up each time for various pocket sizes etc.
Thanks in advance,

Re: Control nesting
This would not screw anything up in ecabs. Although if you change the pocket tool diameter to 1/2" and you were trying to cut a pocket that has a minimun width that is smaller than 1/2", you will get an error.Gary Urlacher wrote:I just upgraded to a Thermwood router from and entry level unit.

If you go into control nesting>settings. Then look in the lower left hand corner, you will see the "Pocket tool setup". The "diameter" value controls what cutter is used for the pocket routine. If this value is set to a .5" tool all pockets will be cut using this tool. Note: These tools will have to be set up in the tool manager and in the Control nesting>tooling area.I am not sure how that set up works, is it the largest bit that the machine will look for
or is it a fixed bit that I would have to change the set up each time for various pocket sizes etc.
