Upper corner cabinet

I was working on a project with 45deg upper corners. I started a new design from the seed cabinet.
the uppers for this job are 12" deep. I am having a problem figuring out what is going on with the seed
cabinet. My material thickness is .64". The sides of this upper corner cabinet say that they are 12"
but in reality, they are 12.64". I have to do front set backs on the side panels, top and bottom for this
to come out 12". The side set back is .64" yet the top and bottom set backs are not that much for it
to line up.

I can't figure out why they are not 12" to start like the side window says they are.

Any ideas would be great.

If your material is .64, after you miter the front edge of the side panel 45deg it will be 12" short point to short point. It is adding extra material for the miter otherwise you will have a gap on the back side.

Here is an example that may show it better. I used .67 material because that is what I had in my library.

allowing for that cut.
