strechers

Post by Terry Franker »

I'am having trouble (all of a sudden) with the strecher editor. I resized an upper cabinet, height and width, and the lower strecher dropped out of the cabinet. Now I am unable to add a strecher and adjust it. I'm getting all six adjustment dimensions. If I make an adjustment in the table, it goes to some goofy number and acts like the stretcher is moving from a target, and the target moves. I'm pretty new at this. Am I missing something? I did not have the seed cabinet stretchers locked. I cannot even work on the strecher in the seed cabinet without getting the same problem.
Any help is appreciated.

Rick, hopefully this is the file! I have tried restarting ecab as well as rebooting the whole computer.
Thanks,
Terry

Terry,

That one is a problem, I have changed everything in the cab and it still will not work, but you can start over with a new seed cabinet and it works fine.

Hi Guys,

I have been doing some angled benches and been thinking how to do it. The only way I can construct it so that it makes the cabinet makers life easier than mine is to use stretchers put them at the same correct angle and after that edit them to get the correct incline for the back rest. See the stretcher is a great part to work with as you can manipulate angle, size, construction etc. The only trouble with it is... yup, you guessed it. You can not edit it in the part editor. My question is how hard would it be to make it editable and is there a chance that we'll see it as one in the next version.

Also does anyone has any idea how to rotate/angle parts (with proper construction- blind dado in my case) other than use stretcher.

I should have posted a different topic but that name on this one says exactly what I want to ask about.

Thanks for your help

That cabinet must have somehow become corrupted. In my seed cabinet library, I have other uppers built from that cabinet and they all work fine!?? :wall: Thanks for the help.

Can you give me step by step on how this cabient was created? I would like to recreate this from scratch. You can either post it on here or email it to me. You can also give me a call if you have any questions.

The programmers are looking in to this now. I will let you know when I hear something.

Load this cabinet, select it and right click, remove part editor cuts from entire cabinet. Now you should be able to adjust the strechers just fine. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call.

Justin,
That did work. Thanks.
I did notice that inset 4 was set to 3/16" for the top and bottom strecher. Unless I had an out of head experience, I use 1/4" backs and would not have entered 3/16. Also, I never had any part of the cabinet in the part editor.
