shrinking cabinets in line drawing editor
I don't know if this is a glitch for Vista users but I am trying to shrink a cabinet I took to line drawing editor to fit for printing purposes. I highlight the cabinet and it turns green but does not turn magenta. I used a mousewheel but I can't get it to shrink it will just explode. I tried shift, ctr, alt all of that and I can't find it in the user manual or on this website. Can anybody tell me, I know it has to be simple.

Don,once in LDE select Cab from the tool bar, click on the cabinet and it will turn green, then hold Shift + left and right mouse buttons and drag the mouse to resize. If you don't like the position, or the cabinet has become askew, then you can use the Reset View button on the toolbar. HTH

Thank you, that did work but when I drag the cursor away from the tool bar into the working area it disappears. Must be Vista right?

I have vista and have no issue in the LDE with resizing the part like Rick explained. When you say it disappears, can you still see the grid on the screen? If not, you've zoomed in too far. What type of video card are you using and how much memory does it have?

I'm sorry what I meant was the cursor disappears. The grid stays the same, I have to doink around with highlighting the cabinet. As far as what I have I'm not sure, it is a Gateway laptop and the previous XP Gateway I had worked fine for eCabs for a long time until it was retired.

Don,
Try adjusting your hardware accelleration to see if that helps. (I am assuming that adjustment is still available in vista)

It does seem that with certain layouts I have to "doink" around alittle also to get a cabinet sellected but my curser has never disappeared. can you adjust your hardware accelleration like Kerry asked? I would suggest trying that and see what happens.Don Nichelson wrote:I'm sorry what I meant was the cursor disappears. The grid stays the same, I have to doink around with highlighting the cabinet.
