Renaming Cabinets

Post by Adam DAgosto »

Hi.

Is there a way to rename cabinets after they are created? Right now when my builder looks at the plans from left to right I go from cabinet 4 to 6 to 1 to 2 to 5 to 7 and to 3.

I'm all over the place. It would be nice to be able to rename them so the builder has something more sequential to look at. I have no problem following it, but I created the madness!! :)

Any thought?

Hi Adam
you can move the numbers around in the LDE by highlighting them and holding shift and right click but as far as I know the cut list will still number them in the order that you placed the cabinets in the room.If there is a way to renumber the cut list I'd like to know about it too. Will watch this post with interest

You still have the cabinets saved in the cabinet editor, so just delete all the cabinet in the room and place them back in the way you want them numbered. Lot of work but you get what you want. Then just rename the file and save.

Hi Gary
figured that was the only way if you want the cut list to correlate with the numbering in the LDE and keep it in sequence.Usually I get it in order unless I'm placing the same cabinet in several places on different walls.Guess you could place the multiple cabinets separately to stay in sequence but I just move the numbers around on the LDE as the builder / client doesn't get the cut list
