How do I sort my stock materials

Post by Al dedenus »

Is there any way to move around my sheet stock materials so that they are in order. As they are in the order that I created them I have plywood then mdf then meltica then ply again and so on.Would like them listed in groups not randomly
One other thing, I created '30mm MDF' and also (by mistake) '30MM MDF' Want to delete one but will I have to troll through my entire library and change the cabinet parts that are using the material I want to delete? Did this when I first started using the programme :wall:

Your not wrong about that spelling buddy! I see what you mean bout the alphabetical order.Oh well guess thats why they have training courses so you don't stuff things up from the start and live to regret it

They are likely in ASCII sort order of the material name: numbers, uppercase letters then lowercase letters.

Morning Al
What I just did 2 weeks ago was change my cherry.
I took my cherry library and took it out of the program and put the file on my desk top.
Then went to materials and took out the old cherry then put the on cherry in and put the file back in to the program.
Now when I go into any of my cabinet that have cherry in it. It will ask me to put the new cherry into that cabinet.
That way I did not have to change every part. It will change them all (in that cabinet).
That is if you have all your MDF in one file.
You would have to ask the Co.
If you would take out assemblies file and cabinet file put on desk top went to materials took out the exter MDF
put the files back in. So when you go to a cab. or assemblie It should ask you for a new material.
Try just one first

I'd take the move over painting any day Al. If you don't do that, at least put it off until winter sets in (shouldn't be long should it?) then you can't do it until spring. :joker:

If you download the Google tool bar it has a spell check and it's free. It checks all spelling when ever you write it,on what ever you write it on.
