I am a new user and trying to build my base library . I use Tandembox and Metabox drawers exclusively and it is not obvious the steps to add these . I will would like to be able to add a drawer front in the cabinet and have the associated drawer parts (bottom and back) created and the holes drilled at the approriate points . I am comfortable with holes patterns and can create those and various cabinet cosntruction methods . I have created a Tandembox drawer
type but I am not sure what the size relates to . Does the part size of the front and back part relate to the cabinet opening I am fitting the drawer into ? How to I associate a drawer box to a front and hardware to get the hole patterns ? Sorry if I am a bit vague but I am new to the program and the cabient type of drware box is a bit unclear at this point as it relates to the cabinet it is to fit in ....
Thanks Bill
Bill,
I'll take a shot at this question... The drawer box size when you are designing a drawer alone does not seem to mean anything. Chime in here guys if I'm wrong. When you place drawer fronts on a cabinet, there is a check box for including the drawer box behind the drawer front you are placing. The add drawer dialog will give you many setting that you'll have to pay close attention too, especially if you are using the metal drawer systems. The drawer you created in the drawer box designer and selected for this particular drawer WILL SCALE ITSELF to your opening and whatever settings you enter in this dialog. You will have to constrain it with the dialog box settings. So, if you are using the 5.5" metabox sides you would need to enter 5.5" in your "Min Height Inc." box, otherwise, it is going to take the opening and your top inset and scale the drawer box vertically. I think drawer boxes were the 1 thing I wrestled with the most with eCabs. I have a dozed mini cabinets outback that I cut trying to get a understanding of the settings and how they all interacted with each other. I hope this helps.

Thanks folks , I finally got my head around this stuff after talking to the good folks at Thermwood . I don't think I understand it well
enough to explain to anyone but I at least got it working for Tandembox slides in the scenarios that interested me .
Fred , I hope I don't generate the same scrap pile I did a trial nest and the parts created and holes etc. seem to match what I thought should happen but you are correct in stating that the box that includes a drawer with a front is critical to the exercise . I was able to get the settings for the width's for the back and front part for the drawer completed in the Drawer box designer and then the height of the back and location of holes was setup in the box you mention .
