Room shrunk in Overhead View

While working on a room layout in Overhead View the room 'shrunk to a postage sized room that was impossible to work on . I was able to resize it back up but it went back to a psotage stamp size if I hit the Home key to reset the view . Any idea what I can do to rectify this ?

Bill you probably have some item inserted onto the drawing off stage left, that you are unaware of. This will cause the view to size "incorrectly" you need to locate it and delete
