Installed eCab on new PC while logged on under the full Admin user.
Second username (same PC) does not have admin priveledges. Most apps will open and run, but not eCab. (Some others as well) WHATS UP ? Why can't I start eCab from another user logon? Do I have to reinstall?
If I recall, install required admin privileges, but I try to run normally as a non-admin user to avoid hacks.
I also started getting this problem on my notebook which runs on XP Pro. It worked fine for some time but then started displaying a "crpt acquire context" error and more recently " Error Opening StringTable mdb". When I log in as Admin it runs fine, however I am unable to generate CNC files.
eCabinet Systems v5.2 and earlier were not designed to run for any user other than administrators. This is primarily due to the application's need to write files in the Thermwood\eCabinet Systems subdirectory of Program Files.

Running XP-Pro/SP3 and all current updates (except the latest .Net stuff which I've been warned off of), eCab is 5.2 build 5.
As I said I prefer to run apps as a non-Admin user whenever possible, but if that's not possible I guess I'll have to live with it.
Dean thx for the info. You said Ver 5.2 and earlier....is there a later one? Update status check says I'm current
I mentioned version 5.2 and earlier specifically because it is the latest version. Versions in development may or may not remove this requirement because, after all, they are still in development.
