Is it possible to design a door with 2 different wood species, specifically, one for the frame and another for the panel?
Thanks,
Pat

No and yes. You can't go to the door editor and do this automatically, but you can create a door without a panel and then create a separate panel which you move into place. Kind of clunky. If you resize the cabinet you will also separately need to replace or resize the panel. The only way to make the panel re-sizable is if you make it from a cabinet part, such as a back of a cabinet.
It would be nice if you could select a panel in the door/drawer front editor such as the glass panels are selected.

Re: Doors With 2 Different Wood Species?
Here's what I think might be an easier approach to this problem. Place "frame only" doors on your cabinet. Add a stretcher of whatever material you want for the panel in the direction you want the grain to go. In my case I made the stretcher 20" wide and 1/4" thick. Adjust the stretcher so that it is embedded in the doors. In my case I set it to be -1/2" from the front. Set and lock the distances to the sides to be something like 1".
With 2 doors you could of course use two stretchers, but I chose not to. Using this method the stretcher will be adjusted if the cabinets are resized.

Re: Doors With 2 Different Wood Species?
Thanks, Joe.
I was afraid that would be the answer. Seems like this would be an easy change to make in the Door Editor.
eCabs thwarted my other slick idea, which was to put a frame-only door and a slab door in the same opening, and play with the Inset parameter. Oh, well.
But your idea will do the trick. Thanks!
