Also, The update page on the thermwood site is still showing the old date and the download file is the old file as well? Not sure where even to get the new update otherwise.

Try redownloading the installer, in the event the download was corrupted. Also make sure to right click and Run as Administrator on the downloaded file just to make sure it isn't permission related.

As far as we can see and others have reported the update is good and live. Make sure when you go to the update page to refresh it in the event your browser is storing the old page in cache. If you are using Chrome you can press CTRL+F5 to force a refresh.

After downloading and then running as administer I'm getting a window that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

Do you have eCabinets User Data Path set to a network location? If so you need to run the registry edit on the eCabinets download page.
