Another Angled Wall Cab Question

Hello Guys,

I am not sure if I am going to be able to describe this but here goes.

I need to design and build an Angled Wall Cabinet that is designed to return to the wall on an end run of cabinets.

This cab. in particular is 12.5 deep and 12.5 wide.

It is a FF cabinet.

It has a FF that is mitered in the middle at a 22.5 degree angle and has 2 doors.

The Top, Shelves and Deck have 4 sides.

It has no left end.

I have been trying every method that I know of to do this including taking the horizontal parts into the part editor but I am stumped on this one .

Please help if possible. I am working with a kitchen dealer in my area and this cabinet is from a layout he did using standard Decora cabinetry.

He designs in 20/20 and than sends me the layout and I duplicate the cabs and sell to him at a wholesaale price, since he is working with the customer and designg the job. It is a good relationship until I run into a snag like the above cabinet and cannot get back to him with pricing quick enough.

That is a lot closer than I got so far, but still not quite what I need.

I will try to post a picture of the rendering that the deale sent me.

It is the cabinet all the way on the left that returns to the wall at an angle.

Does the wall follow the same angles or is it straight?

Yes that is very close, the back and right end are equal dimensions of 12 1/2\", and the angle is 22 1/2 at the right end and left back. You appear to have it , just that the dimensions and angles are not quite right.

Yeah, I didn't try to get the dimensions correct. What you will have to do is create a frameless cabinet in the size you need.

Then take the top to the part editor and cut it to shape. Set your angle snap to 22.5 degrees in the contour mode side of the part editor to make it easier.

Cut the shape out then go back into contour mode, right-click and choose \"Create Edges\". You can then save that geometry to use on the shelves and deck.

Once you cut the top, deck and shelves, you will need to create two more cabinets with face frames.

On these two cabinets delete everything but the face frames then move them into place on the first cabinet.

Add doors to each of the two face frame cabinets and save the whole thing as an assembly.

This sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is.

Thank you very much for your help. From your instructions I was able to get what I needed. I could not figure out the angle snap however, so I just cut the part in the Contour mode from measurements. Being able to save the geometry really helped a lot .

I will post a pic of what I have.

I'm doing a similar cab and going along well with the instructions here. I am however confused as to the steps for moving the faceframe cabinets into place over the non-ff cab. Sorry for the ignorance.

Joe in the cabinet editor you need to highlight the frames one at a time and move them by holding down the shift key and using your arrow buttons. The highlighted object will move by the value set in the move increments setting. Usually you will need to rotate the cabinet and face frames several times to get everything lined up correctly - but you should be able to get them \"spot on\" like vince has.

Sorry for being a pain but while in cabinet editor I can't seem to make the highlighted item move. I hold shift and arrow but nothing happens.

Joe, click a part once to select it or twice to select a whole cabinet. It should get a green outline if you got it. Esc key to unselect.
