designing freestanding furniture?

I know the power of E-Cab's to make kitchen cabs but how do I find out how to draw freestanding furniture like eg. Shaker style table? Is this possible or is this a limit of the software?

Bite your tongue, (limits of ecabinets).

You most certainly can draw free standing furniture. You can either start with a cabinet and turn it into a piece or use all display board and panels to create anything you wish.

Here is tableI designed. I know there are others here who have done much more and better than this.

Thanks, I never thought of using display panels for building furniture. I guess I thought they were only for displaying your cabinets. Can I learn how to do this from the \" The Manual\" or \"E-Cabs Made simple\"?

Ecabs made simple, can tell you how to build then shape the different parts in the part editor, from there it's fairly easy to assemble the parts in the cabinet editor. I have started to using the \"align\" tool more and more. It is a lot better than eyeballing.

Here is the base to a writing desk reproduction I am doing in eCabinets.

This is build to display boards. I was even able to model the mortise and tenon joinery,

Kerry, I have spent hours trying to make those 's' curve cuts on your front apron.
What's the trick?

Mike,
Those are simply three different arcs connected. I then use the fillet tool to \"ease\" the transitions between arcs. This makes it look more like a spline.

Here's a shaker hall table that we do as a class project at the CT Valley School of Woodworking. Like Kerry, I did it with display boards and even modeled the mortise and tenon joinery. I did the two sided taper on the legs in Alibre Express, a free cad system, then imported them as STL's.

However, not to be outdone, my good friend Leo Graywacz took the challenge and actually did the tapered legs, on two adjacent sides mind you, all in the part editor.

Then he told ME I have to start thinking outside of the box...go figure.
