I have a layout and am trying to put a countertop on it and I can get the tops on just fine but when I try to save it the system locks up. Can anyone help me with this. I am attaching the layout.
I had the same thing happen. It only froze when i tried to save the job with a countertop placed on an island made of 2 cabinets. All the other countertops saved fine. but i was able to narrow it down to the one countertop. I got around it by useing a display cube instead.
You may try doing a Search here, using the terms \"countertop\" and \"bug\", and selecting the radio button \"search for all terms\". I got around 8 hits.
I think it was Rick Deskins who discovered a work around while this is fixed.
If I am wrong I am sorry for the incorrect credit.
Take the last countertop you place into a room, into the part editor, click return, and go back to the layout room. It should save now. This should help.
This is a known issue and will be fixed in the next patch. Here is a link to the original post. There is a work around just simply take a countertop to the part editor and then return you don’t have to do any thing to the countertop and it should save fine.

It appears that I was incorrect. Gene Kimmi was the one who discovered the work around. Sorry Gene.
No problem. More important than the credit for finding a work-around, is that one was found and we can all continue using this great software without that problem.
As I was banging my head against the wall trying to save the job I was working on, I decided to take the top to the part editor and dock the corners off. I found that this let me save the job without the lockup problem.

Just an update for you folks who helped me with this, there were other problems with this job that Justin couldn't recreate but when we sent him screen shots comparing his machine to ours there were differences. We sent some files for him to look at and hopefully he will figure out what happened on this job.
