Out of memory

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400. Vista Business operating system. Processor is Intel Core 2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00 Ghz. 2 gigs of Memory. The memory dual two 1 gigs. 160 gig hard drive.
It is very slow and after a few munits working on a drawing it tells me there is not enough memory or it is low on memory. Sometimes it crashes. Can anyone please help? Thank you.

Does this happen to a particular job? If so could you post it so we can take a look at it?

This is the first job I have done with ecabinets. So not sure if it is just something in this drawing that is doing it. Developing cabinets is also slow also but I don't get out of memory messages. I also notice in task manager that in the processes tab as I work on the job the memory that eCabinet uses keeps going up until it runs out of memory. Saving after every step does not help. The only way to solve the problem is to close eCabinets after every few steps. Hope you can help. Thanks Walker.

Just tried to attach the job to this and when I go into the eCabinet Systems folder, it is not there. Yet from the program it is there. Why is that. Sorry I cant send it. If you know how, let me know and I would be happy to send it. Thanks again Walker.

Are there any pulls or dovetail drawer boxes in your cabinets that you are taking to the LD editor?

It is in custom layout that the problem is. But yes the are pulls but no dovetails. Just 4 pulls at the moment.

You should find you job under C:\\Program Files\\Thermwood\\eCabinet Systems\\My ESJs.
If you can find it please attach it so I can take a look at it.

If it was saved somewhere under MY ESJs then its ok, but what you attached is a jpg I need the esj file.

I was afraid you were going to say that. I tried to attach the hsf file but it keeps timing out. I have only have dial up and the file is about 25mb. This is where it is saved, (C:\\Users\\Mike\\AppData\\Local\\VirtualStore\\Program Files\\Thermwood\\eCabinet Systems\\Hughes Tom Kitchen 1a.esj) do you think it is OK saved there?. It just saved it there its self. I will try a few more times to send it. If you have ideas on how to send it let me know.

It’s always a good idea to save projects in there appropriate place like cabinets in the cabinet folder or drawer boxes in the drawer boxes folder. We have run in to problems with people saving cabinets in the drawer box folder and vise versus. This has lead to some problems with them trying to load a cabinet in to the drawer box editor. You can end up with a corrupt file when doing this. But this should not be your problem.

You can email your job to cabinets@thermwood.com.
Make sure to say forward to walker. Also you might want to compress it before you email it.

ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, memory size is 512mb I think. I got this info from CATALYST Control Center. This is a program that loads when I start the computer. Its for changing settings.

Michael,
I would look at the fact that eCabinets is not yet supporting Vista as an operating system as one of the problems and from what I could tell on a quick look it seems that your graphics card uses shared system memory instead of supplying its own memory on the card itself. You might do a little research on this or maybe someone knows a little more about these cards. Using system memory for your graphics could be a real problem.
