Do you just create fillers as if they were a cabinet?

Yes.

Most fillers that I develope are a left or right end with a left or right stile of the face frame. I save the filler the width it should be. You may want to do a detatched toe kick so the face frame does not go to the floor. Depending on the look you are trying to get.

And speaking of that, which is easier?

Popping the filler onto the cab in the cab editor, then taking the assembly into the room?

Or instead, taking a filler into the room after the cab is placed, then using this &@$%@ software to move it into position?

Sorry. ECabs is about ten generations behind other packages when it comes to moving and aligning miscellaneous stuff (boards, etc.)

Or maybe, editing the cab after it is placed to add a filler to its side? Can that be done? Sure would be nice.

I have no problem whatsoever moving items around. I would insert the filler and align in free mode.

I usualy have a blind corner and place a filler next to it to continue the run.

It is a matter of addition and subtraction in formula to move the items around.

Look at the progression.

The filler was 38 7/32 away from the wall the blind cabinet is against. I want my filler 24\" off the wall. so (38 7/32)-(24) = the distant I need to move the filler in free style towards the blind corner.

This will position the filler exactly where I want it.

By the way my filler is a cabinet saved as 23 3/4\" deep but I did an inset on the end panel to make the side 3 1/2\" deep. When I set this cabinet it will set the filler at 24 3/4 out where I need it.

That's why it has an L shape

Filler as CABINETS!

Now I see, says the blind man.

My fillers are ELLS, made pretty much as yours, and I will now create one for basecabs, and another for wallcabs. Each will be resizable at selection time, of course.

If you make the front from a stretcher you will have a resizable filler. This cabinet will have two sides instead of one. You can't delete either side because the stretcher depends on the sides it is attached to.

I am still working with fillers, I make frameless cabs, but I thought a using a face frame cabinet, with all the parts removed except 1 vertical frame would work, but I cant put zero in for the dimentions of the frames I dont want, any ideas?
I tried using a panel, but moving it around it proving to be a challenge, I saw where you inputted directly into the program some dimentions, how does that work? will it work for elevation, height?

I just use a display panel out of the proper material, move it in close with the mouse, zoom in and then arrow it to the exact spot. Maybe takes 5 min. for a average kitchen and the filler will nest with the job. Cant imagine that as being a big deal.

You don't put \"0\" in the values.

The fillers are simple. It is a base, wall, tall cabinet with one end panel and one of the stiles of a framed cabinet.

This is simple.

Take a standard cabinet, remove the back, right end, top, deck toe kick set to \"no toe kick\" If that's your prefference, shelves and anything else except a left end and left stile. You have to click on the right stile top and bottom rail and hit delete. You don't put \"0\" in the values.

This is what you should have.

Here is a the file if you want to take a look at the settings.

Normally I inset the back 19 1/2\" this makes the side of the filler actual size of the filler 5 1/4\" deep. But, leave the depth of the cabinet itself at 24 3/4\" deep to allow the face frame to line up with the front of the door.

Michael, after fiddling with the software and making fillers by starting with the faceframe-cab seeds, I really wish they could be \"tweaked\" at \"add item to room\" time, the way cabs can be, to make them L or R, and edit height, depth, and width.

Ever use 20-20? I haven't, but I've watched from the chair adjacent someone at a Home Depot or Lowe's, while they use it to \"design\" a kitchen with stock cabs like KraftMaid, and the function of adding a filler is pretty much like I described above.

Someone had to develop the \"stock cabinets\" for 20/20. Right. This is where you have to sit down and discover what it is when you design the room and make these cabinets to your specs. For example a left hand 2\" filler and a right hand 2\" filler.

I have fillers from 3/4\" to 6\". Both left and right hand finish. So all I do is place the cabinets/fillers and be done with it. Once the cabinet directories are developed, it is so simple to design a room.

This is the set up of the system. And this is why Thermwood has developed the design sharing network. You can buy the libraries already made. Some are designed for CNC, while others are designed for saw shops. My library is designed for the saw shops.

I haven't posted my library yet but I am working on it, as we speak. Or should I say type

Hope to post in the next couple of days.

This library is for the higher end clientele. And, it has been built and tested. It includes the bar backs with and without panels, and corbels! It's nice.

They can...sort of. Once you add your face frame filler to the room, you can take it to the Cabinet Editor and change the width of the stile to the width you want the filler to be.

This way you only need a left and a right filler and the width doesn't really matter.

Like Mike Yeargain said, the HUGE difference in eCabinets and everything else is that eCabinets is custom cabinet DESIGN software and the others rely on filling a room with stock cabinets in 3 inch increments.
