Shaker Pegs

Post by Tony Marrazzo »

So as you can tell, I do a lot of weird stuff besides cabinets. The hall mirror I built for my kids for Christmas has mini shaker pegs to hang keys on, does anyone know if you can create those in this program or import them form something else? The mirrors are already done, but I would like to have them in my 3D drawing and not just in my 2D Design Cad drawings. Here is what I have so far.

Sure. You can create them in the Part Editor. There might even be some posted in the Customer 3D Files forum.

Tony,

This isn't a "Shaker" peg but maybe it will work.

You can scale it to any size you want also.

Tony

Look in eCabinet Systems Made Easy (on the help menu) and you will find instructions on making a turned corner post. You can use the same technique to make the Shaker pegs. The section you want is "Using the Cabinet/Assembly Editor -> Using the Part Editor." Double-click on the "Using the Cabinet/Assembly Editor" section to expand it.

The zipped attachment to this post is a jpg of the section that describes this method.

Dan,you could not have said that better, stopped in to the shop to get my install truck this morning to work on my house and got a good snicker out of it!Some weekend I am going to shut the shop down and set here till I get that part editor in my head......Of course it has to get in line with that 2500 dollar estimating software I bought at the last IWF and havent got around to using yet..
Have a good day, I am going home to lay wide plank hardwwod today-my knees and back are already complaining!

The crazy thing was, when I did it exactly as the help menu stated, it wouldn't work, kept getting error messages or it wouldn't do anything. Finally made my display cube bigger than I needed and it worked. Go figger..........

Tony,

When that happens reverse the feed of your tool or play with the offsets. Your tool was probably cutting too deep into the cube and if it cuts away all the cube you get an error. Or just make th cube bigger like you did.
