I want to put my cedar chest drawings in my ecabs - where do I start ?? Its just a box with raised panels on all 4 sides. Can I draw it out and be able to resize it and print out the cut list and such ??
There is no doubt in my mind you can put your cedar chest in ecabs - but your method will depend on a number of factors including your construction style. The results, with raised panels on all four side will not resize (to my limited knowledge) automatically, as the raised panels will be applied display panels. I would approach designing the ecab model the way you would approach building the real thing. Model the size of the chest using a standard base cabinet with no toeckick and a stretcher across the front. When you are happy with the proportions, add the display panels (raised panel doors) to your liking. If you build your cedar chest with a lining that is structural you are all set. If your raised panels are the structure themselves, use the cabinet box for construction only - label the material as do not cut. If you don't want the box material to show in your finished renderings, make the box material thin (.001 works). This is how I model built in window seats and chests. Experiment away and ask more questions if you get stuck or need ideas.
Will the cut list show the display panels - I am working on a base cab box as you said and maybe I can get it right - I would like to be able to print the cut list and let someone else in the shop do the cutting

Display boards and panels will be on the cut list, display cubes will not.
