Backing up

We bought an External harddrive for backing up Ecabs and other files, what files on the Thermwood (CS45-510) should be backed up?

It's best to use "Backup My Files" on the eCabinet Systems "File" menu. It should backup everything you need to be concerned about.

Files on the Super Control are not part of the eCabinets backups and must be backed-up separately.

One of the Thermwood folks needs to ring in on this. I don't have a CNC so I don't know what files should be backed-up.

Here is what we do on the control. I think this list came from THM
c:\macros\*
c:\offset.tab
c:\rolling nest\*
c:\system\toolman.thm
c:\spasswrd.thm
c:\tpasswrd.thm
d:\*

This topic has already been covered in the THERMWOOD forum. Here is a list of the files that should be backed up for your machine:


o C:\Rolling Nest\machine. <----- (Control Nesting - SETTINGS)
o C:\Rolling Nest\tools.thm <----- (Control Nesting - TOOLS)
o C:\Rolling Nest\material.mdb <----- (Control Nesting - Material Database)
o C:\system\toolman.thm <----- (THM Tool Manager Settings, Tool Changer positions)
o C:\offset.tab <----- (Fixture offsets for G52L#)
o C:\MACROS <----- (Contains M999, most commonly altered)
o D:\DATA <----- (Contains all CNC files and folders)


Optional, but highly recommended if you have updated your machine:
o C:\system\ cmark.bin <----- (Contains any C-Marker Offsets)
o C:\system\ Thmfmt.bin <----- (Contains machine properties)
o C:\system\ THMMSU.BIN <----- (Contains machine properties)
o C:\ Msufmt \ “Machine number”.MSU [ie: C:\msufmt\CS45510.msu] <----- (Contains machine properties that can be viewed)

The spassword.thm and the tpassword.thm are necessary if you have changed the service passwords from their original defaults. If these files accidentally get missed in the backup, the machine will default back to its factory settings password of either "thm" or "toolman".
