KD Fasteners

Post by Damon Nabors »

I have a contract to build several hundred cabinets and we need to be able to Assembly on site. I was thinking about the KD Fasteners. If anyone can comment as to the pros and con's of this type of fastener, it would be great. I don't want to find out 6 months from now that maybe I should have researched a little farther. The trial run I cut worked out good except I noticed that the stud hole goes all the way through the material. How or where do you adjust the depth of the pilot hole? All I can find is the spacing for the fastener.

We are going to cut the cabinets using mel. on one side and p-lam on the exteriors. I am hoping to order the Mel already laid up with the plam so we can just cut, edge band and ship out the door as an RTA Cabinet.

any thoughts would be great and info on those pilot holes, I don't think the plam would look good with holes going around the perimeter of the cabinet. Although we could stick some Christmas tree lights off in the holes and light it up. :joker:

Thanks for the help,

Damon

Damon -- Open up the hole pattern that you are using and check the depth (on the left side ) after you DC on the hole to highlite it.

Thanks Wally, That is what I needed. I didn't think about going there to find the settings. Sometimes it is faster to just ask than search.
