I need help creating a tool in the shape manager. I drew the outline in my CAD program, but I keep getting an error "invalid argument". The DXF file was drawn with arches and lines. I made sure everything was closed numerous times. I just can't seem to get it to work.
Brian Shannon sent me a copy of his .tol that he created for a bar rail. Does the it make a difference if it is a inside or outside radius. I am going to attach the piece that I was trying to profile.
I believe that this is what you are trying to do. It's looking a little off, but i did not pay hole lot attantion to it. I only spend couple minute to do it.
I drew the file up in my cad program, saved it as a DXF, opened up the DXF in the shape manager, and tried to create the tool. I trimmed and made sure everything was closed. If you opened up the zip file with the tool profile, that is exactly what it looked like in the shape manager. I tried different mods of the same profile and kept getting the same error. I even went back and looked at other members .tol files to see if I was drawing it wrong.

That is what I was looking for. I still don't understand why I was having such a problem creating the tool.
Thank you guys for the help. I now have something to give to the builder to show the customer.
When creating DXF files in a different software, make sure your drawing depth is at zero. For example: a dxf file that is drawn 1" above/below the origin will cause various problems.
